Knightia excelsa forms an erect slender tree up to 7m.  The leathery leaves are long, deep green and glossy, the margins are toothed.  Young trees have multiple  branches with dense foliage and deep red callistemon type flowers. New Zealand native, evergreen, frost hardy to -5°C.
