SOPHORA MICROPHYLLA (Kowhai)

It is an ever green shrub that can grow 3 to 8 metres tall. The leaves are 10cm long with up to 50 pairs of shiny oval leaflets and masses of flowers. The base of the bright yellow flower is filled with nectar and a favourite with birds. Can tolerate damp conditions but best planted in full sun . It is hardy and can tolerate wind and poorer soil.
