Puriri eventually form a large evergreen canopy and attain a height  of 8m and 6m wide. The pink-red flowers attract Tui and Bellbirds, while the woodpidgeons prefer the red berries produced from mid summer to mid spring.The trees are tolerant of wind and coastal conditions.
